There are new programs in schools to do something about the huge amounts of food tossed away at lunch that ends up in landfills across the country. Instead of throwing out that unopened yogurt cup or that perfectly good apple, schools are now starting food share tables. Students place those unwanted items on the table and other kids can pick them up if they are hungry.
