World’s Largest Gingerbread House

The world’s largest gingerbread house was built in 2013 and, according to the Guinness Book of Records, still holds the record for the World’s Largest Gingerbread House!

How big was it?

The house was 1,110.1 square meters or 39,201.8 square feet.

It was 18.28 m (60 ft), long, 12.8 m (42 ft) wide and 3.07 m (10.1 ft) high at its tallest point.

The house was—as per record requirements—edible. Although beware, the combination of baking ingredients and sweets meant the construction totaled 35,823,400 calories!

The gingerbread bricks were made with 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour and nearly 3,000 pounds of brown sugar.
